Transportation Policy
General Transportation Policy
- The school provides round-trip transportation services for all the students in areas of Sharjah and Ajman only. No one-way service is provided.
- Parents should ensure the availability of the bus service in their area, if needed, before school registration. The school shall not be liable to offer bus service in case the parent’s pick up and drop off areas are not covered in the school bus route.
- Full transportation fees shall be paid during registration. In case of cancellation, the following conditions will apply:
-
- Parents will be required to pay transportation fees for the entire month if you use the bus for two weeks or less.
- Parents will be required to pay transportation fees for the entire two months if their child’s use the bus for more than two weeks and less than a month.
- Parents will be required to pay transportation fees for three months if their child uses the bus for more than one month.
- Currently, school buses accommodate both girls and boys even in grades 4 to 12. Bus attendants will ensure the separation of the two through a well-planned seating arrangement.
- The regulatory of buses at the beginning of each academic year take at least 15 days to arrange bus service for several reasons such as registering new students in the school, drivers to become familiar with new addresses, and change of bus routes which results in delays sometimes, so we hope parents will understand and cooperate in this regard until the regulatory of buses.
- The arrival of buses to the addresses and exact locations depends on road traffic so the student must be ready 5 minutes before the assigned time.
- The school has the right during the academic year and without prior consent at any time, to transfer the student from one bus to another, or change his/her seat, or change the bus route and its timings if there was a need, upon management’s discretion.
- Parents of KG to grade 3 students must be physically present at the agreed pick- up and drop-off areas. Otherwise, these students shall be brought back to school. Parents of these children should then take the children from school.
- The Transportation Department shall be informed before one week at least if the residential address is changed. To change the bus for the student, the school is not committed to providing the service at the new address in case of unavailability.
- If there are any notes or complaints regarding school buses, parents should do not talk with the driver but refer it to the transportation in charge and the complaint will be dealt with appropriately as soon as possible and the parents will be informed of the results.
- If the parents desire to accompany their son or daughter early from school due to an emergency; they should notify the bus supervisor ideally a day before or at least minimum one hour before.
- AIAS has the right to organize the bus route as per the school rules.
- On the school bus, students must remain seated at all times until dismissed. Students causing problems will be reported by the bus assistant or bus driver. Students on the bus must not consume food or drink except water. The school has the right to stop the bus service of the student in case of any unacceptable behavior at any time.
Conditions when using the School Bus
- The school shall ensure that buses are always in a good condition before and after use. Students are responsible to keep the cleanliness of the bus while using it.
- Bus drivers are not allowed to answer calls during the duration of the trip. Notably, the traffic law of the country prevents the driver from using a mobile phone during driving for safety concerns.
- Parents are off-limits inside the bus for any reason nor are allowed to talk to any other students on the bus.
- Parents should remind their children to stay in their assigned seats during the trip, be courteous and respectful to the drivers and bus attendants, and shall respect and abide by disciplinary actions when rules are violated.
- Parents may permit the students to bring a bottle of water and they can consume them while on the bus, however, their children must throw their trash in the bins.
- Bus Usage violations and their corresponding demerit points. The school shall obtain the bus merit and demerit points which will be added in the Class Dojo. Demerit points ranging beyond the acceptable of -10 points accumulated in a week are subject to disciplinary actions.
